Consortium of the city of Santiago de Compostela
The Consortium of Santiago de Compostela is responsible for the execution of the Royal Patronage of Santiago. This initiative represents a tangible example of institutional cooperation between the Government of Spain, the Xunta de Galicia and the City Council of Santiago. Established in 1992, it is an inter-administrative public law entity, municipally owned, with its own legal personality and assets.
Its status as an inter-administrative body enables the development of policies for urban regeneration, infrastructure and equipment upgrading, and the recovery of public space. Furthermore, the Consortium of the city of Santiago de Compostela is engaged in the promotion of cultural initiatives and the advancement of research and interpretation of the city's history and the Jacobean phenomenon.
