The State Industrial Holding Company –SEPI- is a public law entity created under Act 5/1996, of 10 January, on the creation of specific public law entities. Article 11 regulates its functions.

A significant initiative is the Strategic Companies Solvency Support Fund, created by virtue of Royal Decree-Act 25/2020, of 3 July, on urgent measures to support the reactivation of the economy and employment. This RD was the genesis of the Fund's Management Council, an inter-ministerial collegiate body attached to the Ministry of Finance through the Undersecretariat. The Council was entrusted with the management of the Fund through SEPI.

The Solvency Support Fund closes with 30 deals authorized, amounting to 3.255 M€
